we’re married!

Our wedding week is over, and today I start work again with beautiful memories of the most wonderful time of my life. It was about family, about love, and about the amazing plan the Lord has for us.
Jenny Smith of Alders Photography documented our day. Click the screen shot below for a sneak peek at the wedding! I can’t wait to see the rest.

And how sweet are my co-workers?? I am manning the fort here this week while they spend the week at Perdido Bay shooting several stories for our summer 2013 issue. But they made me feel so welcome!
This adorable sign, designed by Jessica at Empress Stationery, is on my door at work.

Well, now that the wedding has passed, I’ll be doing my best to be blogging more regularly. I’ve got way too many pictures of food and fun sights on my camera from our honeymoon in Monterey Bay and San Francisco. I can’t wait to share!
wedding festivities: lingerie shower

Well, my sister Brynn Bralley is now Brynn Campbell. She and Tyler were married on Saturday. It was a stunningly beautiful ceremony and a fabulous reception. I can’t believe my sister is married!
The weeks leading up to the wedding were exciting but busy! I’ve been swamped, but I wanted to back track for a bit and share some of the lingerie shower my sister Brass and I hosted for Brynn. We served brunch with coffee and mimosas and had a bit of fun with the decor.

I draped the table in lace fabric and placed purple flowers in a green vase (purple with pops of green were Brynnie’s wedding colors).
On the menu:
~ Doughnut Holes from Shiply’s Do-nuts
~ Hashbrown Bake (Recipe via Celebrate‘s Spring 2012 issue)
~ Fruit Salad (fresh fruit drizzled with honey, tossed with sliced almonds)
~ Pink Panty Mimosa (See recipe below)

Panty bunting! We raided the clearance bin at Gap Body and found a supply of sheer panties that would go lovely against a window.

We hung them with string and tiny clothespins (which we found at Joann’s Fabrics). Extra panties were sitting in a basket on the floor, so girls got to grab one as a favor as they headed out.
Ok — recipe time! Here’s how you make our signature cocktail.

Pink Panty Mimosa
Makes 8 to 10 servings
1 bottle champagne
3/4 of 1 (128-ounce) raspberry lemonade*
1 cup raspberry liqueur
Fresh raspberries
Combine champagne, lemonade, and liqueur in a large pitcher. Garnish with fresh raspberries.
*I used Simply Lemonade Raspberry.
Serve this cocktail in little mason jars for an extra dose of vintage elegance.
So happy for my sister!
welcoming fall

For perhaps the first time ever, I’m able to enjoy fall for what it is: beautiful.

In the past, fall has been filled with class, stress, and deadlines. Last year, though student life was behind me, I had an internship, which as many know, doesn’t mean you can breathe easy. You’re constantly looking for a job and worrying about the future (at least I was).
But now, I am settled for a bit. Work is steady; worries are kept at bay. I will take in the beauty of the season without having a pile of deadlines in the back of my mind. I will simply enjoy a delightfully crisp autumn breeze, the flavors and fragrances of the season, cozy sweaters, warm scarves, and a stunning display of leaves in brilliant hues. And perhaps fall just may become one of my favorite times of the year.
Here’s a blast from the past—from a time of life when every season was simply a season. There was no worrying; there was only living.
